Having moved from a program which was completed in-house, the department went from a cost center to a profit center, eliminated capital expenditure on equipment and maintenance, reduced management oversight of skilled technicians and decreased their turnaround times from 7 days to less than 24 hours.

This customer uses the full range of Cardiac Monitoring Service’s offerings and receives monthly utilization reports, monthly error reporting and has access, as all customers do, to the 24/7 helpdesk resources.

A Cardiology group was undertaking a large volume of cardiac reporting using its own equipment, printing hard copy reports, and using a combination of printed reports, faxing, hand written diagnosis and scanned reports to arrive at a result. This process was taking longer than 7 days per report and culminated in duplicate reports and missed billing opportunities.

With Cardiac Monitoring Service’s help, the Cardiology group continues to use their own devices, sources their own consumables and uses their own technicians, but they are utilizing BeatBox to better manage their processes, billing and archiving. In time, this group may move to using Cardiac Monitoring Service for new equipment or as an overflow analysis partner.

Ambulatory Holter Reporting

A holter monitor is a battery-operated portable device that measures and records your heart’s activity (ECG) continuously for a period of between 24 hours and 14 days depending on the type of monitoring device used. The device uses electrodes that attach to your skin to generate data.

Cardiac Monitoring Service uses a refined combination of devices, software, intellectual property and services to deliver high quality, accurate and timely diagnostic data in to the hands of primary health professionals.

Cardiac Monitoring Service’s unique solution offers reporting solutions to pathology clinics, hospitals and other health clinics.

Cardiac Event Monitors

Cardiac event monitors are designed to detect sporadic events that were not captured during Holter monitoring or that might otherwise escape notice in a routine ECG procedure.

Each cardiac monitor is small, light weight, and simple to hook up and operate. The instructions are color coded, and both you and your patients can always reach a live person 24/7 to answer any questions you may have. Once hooked up, patients transmit baseline and event strips to CMS from any telephone at any time of the day or night.

The equipment is designed to detect symptoms including Atrial Fibrillation, Bradycardia, Tachycardia and Cardiac Pause. When a patient feels symptoms coming on they simply push the record button. The cardiac monitor will create a two-minute recording (the 90 seconds of activity that took place before the button was pushed, plus 30 seconds after), which the patient then transmits to Cardiac Monitoring Service.


Ambulatory Blood Pressure Reporting

Ambulatory Blood Pressure (AMBP) monitoring involves measuring blood pressure (BP) at regular intervals (usually every 20–30 minutes) over a 24 hour period while patients undergo normal daily activities, including sleep. The portable monitor is worn on a belt connected to a standard cuff on the upper arm and uses an oscillometric technique to detect systolic, diastolic and mean BP as well as heart rate.

When complete, the device is connected to a computer and a Cardiologist prepares a report of the 24 hour, day time, night time, and sleep and awake (if recorded) average systolic and diastolic BP and heart rate.

Our AMBP and holters are widely used by our customers for general health assessment and various drug and athlete studies. The machine’s features and the integration to BeatBox, provides the Cardiologists with the perfect platform with all the relevant measurements.


Drug Trials and Research Studies

Leveraging our experience, Cardiac Monitoring Service offers cardiac reporting in partnership with health clinics and pharmaceutical companies to evaluate drug performance for trials and studies. In addition, Cardiac Monitoring Service is involved in diagnosing/evaluating athletes with heart abnormalities following the international guidelines for ECG interpretation in athletes.
